Southern Cross Computing Pty Ltd ('SCC') recognises the importance of privacy protection and is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Act) and the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. The NPPs set out minimum standards of privacy protection in relation to the collection, holding, use, disclosure, management, access, correction and disposal of personal information.

SCC is a specialist supplier of IT contractors. As such, SCC gathers personal

- Employment history
- Referee Reports
- Details of claims against Selection Criteria
- Details of positions a contractor has been proposed for
- Client Feedback
Employees, Contractors and Subcontractors
Including:
- location of work
- Contract employment terms and conditions
- Bank Account details
- Taxation details
- Exemption Status Declarations
- Financial details of contracts including pay rates
- Client assessments
IP Address
SCC's web servers gather your IP address to help diagnose problems with our
service, to administer our site, and to gather broad demographic information.
Demographic information is gathered in aggregate only and cannot be traced to an
individual user.

| Who is the personal information disclosed to? |
As a general rule, SCC will not provide personal information to any third
parties except:
- to related companies of SCC, for the same kinds of purposes as listed above;
- to ensure continuity of service, to another company if the supply of the
product or service has been transferred to that company;
- to third parties engaged to provide services in connection with the purposes
mentioned above (eg: external auditors, superannuation and training) but only if
they satisfy SCC that they comply with the Privacy Act and other relevant
privacy laws; and
- if it is otherwise permitted or required by the Privacy Act or any other law.

Our server computers are physically secure and all efforts are made to ensure that our network security is maintained to a very high level.

| Definitions |
The terms "personal information", "sensitive information" and "employee
record" are used in this document with the meaning that they are given in the
Privacy Act 1988.
To summarise their meaning:
personal information: information or an opinion, whether true or not, from which
your identity is apparent or can be reasonably ascertained.
employee record: personal information relating to the employment of an employee,
for example:
* health information;
* engagement, training, disciplining or resignation;
* termination of employment;
* terms and conditions of employment;
* hours of employment and salary or wages;
* recreation, long service, sick, personal, maternity, paternity or other leave;
* taxation, banking or superannuation affairs.

* performance or conduct; or
* membership of a professional or trade association or trade union.
sensitive information : personal information about your health, racial or ethnic
origin, political opinions, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical
beliefs, membership of political, professional or trade associations or trade
unions, sexual preferences or practices and criminal records.
