Reference Manual - Functional Overview

SCC TOOLKIT (hereafter called TOOLKIT) is an integrated suite of functions and utilities used everyday by ADABAS/Natural developers.

All of the most useful features are performed by TOOLKIT - list, scan, compare, view structures. A major feature of TOOLKIT is its ability to read NATURAL system files across databases and to any suitable ADABAS file numbers. This ability means that programmers in a development environment can instantly access source and object code from any environment (e.g. development, test, training or production) without requiring logon access to that environment.

When TOOLKIT is started, the following functions may be selected from the TOOLKIT Main Menu:

  • Compare Libraries

  • Three Way Library Comparison

  • Compare Member(s)

  • Compare FDT or DDM

  • Compare & Check Parameters

  • List Changes Since Date

  • Find Member

  • Display FDT or DDM

  • Display Environment

  • Display Library

  • Display Member

  • Display Hierarchy

  • Display External Subroutines

  • Display Predict Sets

  • Scan Library for string(s)

  • Structure Variables

  • Step Libraries

  • Site Utilities
  • Click on any of the above functions to open the documentation for that function.
For general help about SCC TOOLKIT, including navigation, options and global commands click
    here.

On-line help for each function is provided. This is initiated by pressing PF1 on any screen. Entering a "?" (without the quotes) in the first position of any modifiable field on a screen will supply a "pick-list" if available, or display on-line help.
